jazz half

My good friend Lauren and I ran the Jazz Half this Saturday. It was Lauren's first race and she couldn't have done better! It was pretty cold but that turned out to be in our favor near the end. My only wish was that there were more water stations. But we had a great time just chattin it up and running. I also love that my sweet boys came out to see us cross the finish. (Pics are not in order. Blogger app is lame.)

WTFF

Friday was our monthly What The Fit Friday workout at The Parks. Because it's almost Halloween (and because we're in New Orleans, hello) we all dressed up to add a little spice to the circuit routine. I absolutely love this gym and the amazing people that come with it! It's always a party!

boo!

Last night was Boo at the Zoo! It's a great event that raises money for the Audobon Zoo in New Orleans and it's a sell-out event. The boys looked so cute in their mummy costumes. And we had fun in the toddler-friendly haunted house, seeing the dinosaurs, making puppets and pumpkins, and trick-or-treating on trick-or-treat lane.

races

Last weekend was busy between our convention in Las Vegas, RJ's Tough Mudder in Utah, and my marathon in San Francisco.

I am so proud of my husband for not only competing but the fact that he LOVES the TM. He thinks it's "fun" to get shocked by electrical wires and crawl through mud. Gross. But I guess I am just as crazy to enjoy running for hours on end. (Also, photo cred to Megan who sat in the cold to watch RJ and Lindsie race! I love you Megan!) RJ is a beast and that's all I can say.

The marathon was everything I was hoping it to be and more. The course was great, not too many hills, and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. I also made it in my goal time which is huge since my marathon in Nashville last year wasn't so great (remember my knee blowing out?) and it was the perfect quick vacay: dinner in San Fran, a movie, wake up to workout and get a Tiffany's necklace from a SF firefighter when you're done. Relax on a plane and come home to your two sweet boys and a huge banner and welcoming party at my inlaws'. Grateful for such a challenging but extremely rewarding experience.

dinner at the farm

My mom had Sunday dinner today at their house in Heber. Jack runs wild and free at the farm. I love seeing him so happy there. There's something about a boy and a farm (except today he didn't get to play on the tractor). It was a fun day collecting the eggs with the cousins and saying hi to the animals.

hogle zoo

We're on a quick jaunt to SLC right now, before RJ's Tough Mudder race this weekend and my marathon in San Fran.

As soon as I got here I just HAD to see my sisters. So we went to the zoo to see the polar bear and that cute little baby giraffe. Jack bonded with his cousin Henry. Henry is such a sweet boy.

Just kidding

I have so much on this blog, dating back to when we moved to Alabama 3 years ago! So I will just keep this blog and make peace with the app (which is what I will mostly be using to update).

So forget about rjandmadi.tumblr.com

And happy conference weekend!
