...To Albuquerque, then San Antonio, Austin, and now finally we're "home" in Birmingham, Alabama! (I will have to get used to calling it that.) Although we could do without the Roll Tide and wish for a little more Ute pride, I don't think we'll be finding that here except on the Utah Football t-shirts RJ is always wearing. RJ has lived in the South most of his life... in Louisiana and Texas, however, this is a whole new world for me. Number one: you haven't seen rain until you've seen it in the South! Nor have you heard accents so thick that it takes a minute to process "Y'all come back now, hear?" And I've never heard frogs outside my window before. But you know what-- Alabama is beautiful. There are trees everywhere. When you're driving you're either in the middle of them and can't see what's around you or you're on the freeway and you just see the road ahead and miles and miles of green trees. You don't even see buildings popping out of the top. The people are so nice, not great at driving (I've almost been hit twice), but they're so willing to help us "northerners" as we were so lovingly called. We're in the process of finding a house and we absolutely love our new ward. And having family here is such a blessing! I think we're really going to like it here.
